1. Who We Are
Pathwise ("we", "us", "our") is an academic planning tool that helps California community college students plan their transfer pathway. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
- Account info — email address and authentication credentials via Supabase Auth.
- Academic profile — your selected community college, target university, intended major, completed courses, AP exam scores, IGETC progress, transcript data you upload.
- Schedule preferences — work schedule, modality preference, professor preferences, time-of-day windows.
- Usage data — pages viewed, features used, error reports (via Sentry), API request logs.
- Subscription info — billing managed by Stripe; we receive subscription status and customer ID but never see your full card details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate your transfer plan, schedule recommendations, and AP credit mapping.
- To improve the product (anonymized aggregate analysis).
- To communicate with you about features, releases, and your account.
4. FERPA and Student Records
Transcripts you upload contain educational records as defined by FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g). We treat this information confidentially, store it encrypted, and do not share it with any third party without your explicit consent. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 9).
5. Data Sharing
We share information only with the following service providers, each bound by their own privacy commitments:
- Supabase (database + authentication)
- Google AI Studio / Gemini (AI analysis of schedules and plans)
- Stripe (billing)
- Sentry (error monitoring)
- Vercel (hosting)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share data with advertisers.
6. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information (we do neither), and to correct inaccurate information. Email us at pathwise-counseling@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.
7. Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Stripe and Sentry may set their own cookies as part of their services.
8. Children's Privacy
Pathwise is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us.
9. Your Rights
- Access — request a copy of your data.
- Correction — fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data.
- Portability — export your data in a structured format.

10. Changes to This Policy
We'll update this page when our practices change, and notify users by email or in-product notice for material changes.
